The Different Types of Wisdom

The different types of wisdom:

sakal
- David had this wisdom

1 Sam 18:14
In everything he did he had great success, because the LORD was with him.

chakam
- This is the wisdom that God gave to King Solomon

1 King 4:29 (for King Solomon)
God gave Solomon wisdom and very great insight, and a breadth of understanding as measureless as the sand on the seashore.

Solomon's wisdom was greater than the wisdom of all the people of the East, and greater than all the wisdom of Egypt.

chokmah
- from chakam
- skill (in war)
- wisdom (in administration)
- shrewdness, wisdom
- wisdom, prudence (in religious affairs)
- wisdom (ethical and religious)

phronimos
- practically wise, sensible
- intelligent, prudent, sensible, wise.

Jesus commanded His disciples to be shrewd - which is to be practically wise, be prudent.

Matthew 10:16 (NIV)
"I am sending you out like sheep among wolves. Therefore be as shrewd as snakes and as innocent as doves.
